Do you find credit cards confusing? Do you want to minimize your student loan debt? Looking for a break on those pricey textbooks? We’ve got the solution for you! OU Credit Union and the OU Residence Life Association are coming together to educate OU students.
Join us for a brief and interactive financial fair at the Protect Your Gold event on campus on March 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Oak View Hall! Whether you’re rolling in dough or pinching pennies, we’re here to help you make the most of your money (and fill up that swag bag).
Students entering the fair are given a “passport” and rotate between four tables for a 5-minute interactive presentation on the topics of budgeting, credit, investing, student loans, and more. These activities are designed with your needs in mind, addressing concerns like budgeting for student housing and navigating your first credit card. Once you’ve visited each table and gotten your passport signed, you’re both financially wiser and eligible for free money! Submit the card at the back of your passport with your information and you’re entered in a drawing for a $75 gift card for textbooks.
One winner will be selected from the students who attend OU’s Financial Reality Fair, visit at least four of the financial stations, and submit completed passports. The winner will receive a $75 gift card for books. Gift card will be available for pickup at the Oakland Center Branch of OU Credit Union. Chances of winning are based on the number of entries received. Only one entry per participant will be accepted. OU Credit Union employees, board of directors, and their families are not eligible to win. You may also enter by sending a 3-inch by 5-inch card with your first and last name, email address, phone number, home address, and name of the event to OU Credit Union, ATTN: Financial Education Department, 3777 West Rd, PO Box 1208, East Lansing, MI 48826-1208. All mailed entries must be received by March 9, 2020.
The winner will be drawn on March 12, 2020 by the Financial Education Department of OU Credit Union, whose decisions are final. The winner of the gift card must agree to sign a release form allowing OU Credit Union to use his/her name for promotional purposes for Financial 4.0 and any future OU Credit Union promotional materials.
Winner will be notified by email by March 13, 2020 and has five (5) business days to respond to the Credit Union. Failure to respond within this timeframe will result in the selection of a new winner. Winner understands that prizes may not be substituted or assigned.
Entrants agree by entering that unless prohibited by law, OU Credit Union may use, if entrant is a winner, entrant's name, city and state of residence, photograph, and likeness for advertising trade and any other purposes in any media now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission, or notification. Entrants further agree that the aforementioned parties and all of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, representatives, and agents will have no liability and will be held harmless by entrant for any claim, action, liability, loss, injury, or damage to entrant or any other person or entity, including, without limitation, personal injury or death to entrant or any other person or damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part.
